How it all began
“We never made it past our happy hour drinks. (It was 2020 & Tucson had a Covid curfew.) We were supposed to go to dinner after drinks, but we were so engrossed in conversation that suddenly it was 10 pm and we were the only people left in the bar.
— Jolea
“It felt like every time Jolea answered a question or asked me something all I could say was, ‘You’re wonderful.’ I knew then I needed to be with her.”
— Cameron
Jolea & Cameron
We met on Hinge the day after Thanksgiving four years ago (for the record, it was during COVID and it was Jolea’s one-and-only Hinge date so no judgment). We stayed up talking all night on our first date and were inseparable thereafter. Our love and friendship deepened from there: our beautiful GSP named Mabel came to us, we turned our first house in Phoenix into a home, and we found joy in simple, every day life. After countless shared meals, road trips, spun records, Goodwill thrifts, cups of coffee, TV nights on the couch, ski days, family holidays (even when our entire Thanksgiving dinner fell onto our new white sofa!), sweet treats, highs, and “lows”, we know that we have found our person in eachother. We couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity we have to build a life together.
PCH Engagement Road Trip
Summer of 2023 Cameron had a packed schedule: a golf trip with his dad, a wedding in Charlotte, and birthday party for a friend all back to back. After his 3 long weeks of travel, Jolea flew out to meet him in Portland, OR. Together they were to embark in the Subaru on a coastal road trip down the PCH; enjoying the beauty of the state, spending time outdoors, and pretending they were in the Twilight movie. Along the way they stayed at Mendocino Grove, a luxury glamping experience and the perfect backdrop for the proposal. Other than calling Jolea’s Grandmother (who insisted she get her nails done often “just in case”) to let her know, the couple enjoyed an evening of private bliss to take in the moment before sharing the news with friends and family. They popped champagne over fish and chips in a local pub and roasted marshmallows back at camp- shivering in the coastal July weather. The road trip continued down the coast, stopping to see some friends along the way, until they returned back home in Phoenix to tell Mabel they were now fiancés. Oh! And they also put in an offer (and had it accepted) on a new house in Rochester, NY. Big week for locking down a future together.
And the rest is history
Cameron talked Jolea into moving across the country to his hometown of Rochester, New York. They bought a beautiful old colonial with plenty of room for Mabel to run around, rooms to fill with antique finds, and look forward to many happy years of marriage together on Brookside Drive.
